Weekly Wishlist: Pretty Things

1 White Plates 2 Berry Pavlovas 3 Antique Glass

This week I decided I need some new, more elegant , pretty crockery in my kitchen. When I cook food and what to photograph it… I just don’t have simple white plates, or cool accessories for the background. Consequently, I am now on a mission to beautify my kitchen and given that its fairly old – and no not in a vintage way… – it may be tricky!

I think a lovely collection of varied jars and bottles whether filled with homemade garlic or thyme infused olive oil or just empty, can look fab! I really would love these venetian antique blue glass ware, but they are antiques and no longer available within my price range on the market. Sad Face. Anyone got any alternative suggestions?

I once heard someone say, that there “is nothing more appetizing than food laid out on a crisp white plate”. I am in complete agreement… but my current selection of plates is slightly chipped and consists of a combination of about 20 different sets (no exaggeration). So, I think its time to invest in a set – and I love this one from The Primitive Home‘s etsy shop!

The final touches are candles – which is why I love these copper tealight holders! – and of course allowing beautiful home baked goods, like these pavlovas, to be displayed! Can someone recommend a beautifully elegant cake stand?
