Rooms We Heart: the cactus factor

cactus-12

I was completely inspired by Trisha’s post yesterday about house plants. My house plant of choice would have to be the cactus, and I’ve been considering it for a while now. So this Rooms We Heart is dedicated to the cactus factor. I found so many great images of interiors featuring cacti (ugh, I really dislke that word!) and now I’m definitely inspired to get one. Actually, I think I will need one giant one, and then maybe one or two small ones to tie up the theme a bit.

I feel like the cactus has the ability to give a room an exotic, quirky feel. Maybe it’s their odd shapes, maybe it’s their spiky needles, maybe it’s because they remind us of the dry desert and the wild west, but somehow, they totally amuse me. Since my interior tastes are quite minimal, streamlined and neutral, they would definitely help to add a contrasting splash of enchantment to my home – a bit of a “desert chic” vibe.

Do you have or wish to have a cactus plant at home? Are you as smitten with them as I am?

Holly

  1. You found some amazing images….. wow. As for C (don’t like the word either), I used to like them but have changed my mind. I think someone once told me that they bring bad energy or something and now find them cold, prickly and too starck… but those images… lovely xx

What a terrible word that C word, but I have no problem with its singular form. So happy you like the pics I chose, I really love them too. They inspired me so much, I bought a cactus yesterday! He is so sweet, check it out on instagram. I’m convinced this guy can’t be associated with anything bad, since I giggle everytime I look at it, lol!

      Xx.
