When it comes to fireplaces, the choice is simply staggering. Are you more of a traditionalist, who loves to be able to hang stockings over a fireplace at christmas? Or does your style scream modernist, prefering the sleek “no frills” Scandinavian hearth?
As you probably know already from the We Heart Home blog background, Holly and I are exposed-brick-with-a-white-finish enthusiasts. Consequently, this beast of a fireplace with wood stacked up and ready to go (bottom right), lured me in with its gargantuas height and stark presence.
The contrast of metal fireplace and fluffy cushions (top left) also caught my eye immediately. The contrast is unexpectedly warm.
Which one is your favourite?

Trisha,
I feel the lower two examples are too stark and cold looking. I prefer the top right fire place, though I like the layout of the top left room best.

Hi Chris,
Thanks for your input.. I would probably prefer the top two in terms of coziness and homeliness too. There is something very striking about the bottom two :)

When it comes to interiors I prefer the traditional way!!I think the top right is my favorite!
Hi Gertrude! Nice to see you – top right is def. very cosy!
