Meet the Bloggers

Hello All. I’m Trisha and I’m originally from a little town called London in England. You may have heard of it… I am addicted to faux fur, chocolate and buying far too many clothes for my own good. My quest to make my new room into a cosy hub of loveliness, is proving long-winded and difficult. The reason being that I am a terrible decision maker and I JUST WANT EVERYTHING, especially anything leopard print.

- Why are you excited about being a wehome blogger?

There are so many stunning interior design blogs out there that make me want to jump for joy and buy all new things for my place. However, many of these are also full of chic, elegant and incredibly grown up pieces that while being dreamy, would clash with my wardrobe and cost an arm and a leg. I am excited about bringing a slightly more kitsch, flamboyant interior style to the forefront which will only cost a bit of an arm, and certainly none of your leg.

- How would you describe your style?

I think it’s important to have a good amount of neutral and minimal, so that you can get as many shiny, printed, furry accessories in as possible. Beige is not my friend, but I know he is necessary in many, many interior situations.

- Please answer as quickly as you can:

  • Coffee or Tea? – Tea (I’m English.. come on..)
  • Lamp or Rug? – Lamp
  • Call or Message? – Call
  • Summer or Winter? – Summer
  • Walk or Run? – Walk
  • Book or Movie? – Movie
  • Order or Chaos? – Somewhere in between.

- What are you planning for dinner tonight?

I’m going to a friends and she is making pumpkin risotto. Apparently it is now -3 degrees outside in Berlin. Pumpkin is definitely warranted.

- When you’re not here blogging, where else can we find you?

Cooking and baking with my friends, watching the BBC series Sherlock ( I am a serious addict… Benedict Cumberbatch is a little bit dishy), wasting away hours chatting with my flat mates and singing into my hairbrush in front of the mirror. Just like Holly my Google reader is packed with blogs that just won’t read themselves, and I also spend time on my own blog Sugar Thumb.

- What does “home” mean to you?

Home will probably always be London. For me, at the moment at least, Berlin is my home away from home, but my roots will always be pulling at my heartstrings. Home in a nutshell: a resolute combination of fondness, family and familiarity with a teaspoon of memories and a dollop of good old nostalgia mixed in for good measure.

Pleased to meet you, I’m Holly. I was born in Montreal, Canada and now I’m in Berlin and loving it. Especially since I’m here doing something I enjoy tremedously, which is working for an online furniture shop and blogging about home design. So…guys…what else can I tell you? Well … my favourite colour is red, even though not a single thing in my home or closet is red. And, uummmm… oh! I have really big ears. Yeah. Luckily they don’t stick out too much. My parents always told me it’s because I’m a really good listener. Actually, come to think of it, I am a great listener. Unfortunately, I don’t have the best memory. I have to write everything down. Which is fine, except my handwriting is so fickle that somedays I wonder whether it was even me who made those notes. And somehow, that makes me uncomfortable… Anyways, thankfully we have to answer some common questions for this bio because seriously, I have no idea where I’m going with this. So here goes:

- Why are you excited about being a wehome blogger?

What excites me most is that it allows me to keep up with what’s going on in a field that I not only studied, but am super passionate about. Also, I love that this blog aims to explore the concept of home from different angles because as someone who moved far away from her home country it’s something I often think about.

- How would you describe your style?

It can go in different directions depending on a lot of things. I try to keep an open mind about it. But generally, I’m more attracted to a clean, modern and minimal style.

- Please answer as quickly as you can:

  • Coffee or Tea? – Coffee
  • Lamp or Rug? – Lamp
  • Call or Message? – Message
  • Summer or Winter? – Fall
  • Walk or Run? – Walk
  • Book or Movie? – Movie (that was a hard one!)
  • Order or Chaos? - Order

- What are you planning for dinner tonight?

Not feeling too hungry today, so probably just some cured meats, a strong cheese and a glass of red wine. And then some chocolate.

- When you’re not here blogging, where else can we find you?

You could probably catch me over at my other blogs. Or else I’m reading other people’s blogs. Haha! Ok, when it has nothing to do with blogs, I’m probably strolling around Berlin, taking pictures and meeting with friends. Or doing yoga. Or painting. Or making the perfect coffee. Or lazing around the apartment with my husband and my cat. I’m really good at that last one.

- What does “home” mean to you?

As cliche as this sounds, I believe home really is where the heart is. I feel it is something internal that is characterised by a sense of well-being and comfort. I learned about “home” in my childhood, but even though I don’t live in that same home anymore, I can always recognize the feeling. So wherever I am, whoever I’m with, if I get that feeling, I know I’m home.
