As our first Interior of the Week for 2013, I have decided to share this highly unique interior. It mixes different styles for a result I can only describe as moody, earthy and elegant. The look is realised by using a warm beigey/grey backdrop and layering in a balanced amount of rich soft elements with cool smooth ones. It is a home where tradition meets modernity and heavy meets light. I’ve probably said so before, but such contradictions are what make the design of any interior appealing and interesting to me. So even though this interior is not exactly to my taste, I find it executes the practice of contrast and contradiction perfectly. This Greek home was redesigned by architect Minas Kosmidis.

Such a fantastic home. My favourite space is the sitting room. I love the oil painting next to those fab brass pendants. Great choice for the first interior of 2013. A very happy new year to you!
