Interior of the Week: fearless

fearless interior design

This is what happens when an architect turned photographer and a fashion designer share the same space. Fabulous, or? I had to share it as the Interior of the Week since I’ve been admiring it for a few years now. For me, it meets all the critria of a great interior; architectural interest, contrast, self expression and fearlessness. That said, there’s a lot of things about this place that I would not replicate in my own home – but I appreciate and commend the confidence of their interior design choices. Oh and the colour palette…perfection.

Did you notice what looks like a long  row of Pez on the ledge above the amazing  Pierre Paulin desk upstairs?

So friends, do share your thoughts. Like it or not?

Happy, happy weekend!

Holly

  1. This is a very cool space with some beautiful design pieces. I can’t say I’m a fan of the photography & there’s a wee bit too much clutter for my liking, but that double height ceiling, the floors & that bathroom are amazing.

    Thanks Holly xx

Hi G! I agree with you, although I must admit I didn’t notice the clutter, until you pointed it out. It’s close to acceptable for me but that’s probably because the space is so grand that it’s tricking me ;)

Isn’t the bathroom just something else!?

      Thanks for popping by Xx.

  2. Ah yes Holly-I have this one in my scrap book. So many interesting elements to it. Really quirky and individual (do agree with Gerard re artwork), but as far as clutter goes-I’m always a big fan! I must change you on the blogroll-you’re still on there as HVH ! Happy Sunday lovely x

Hi Caroline! Thanks for your comment – I think clutter, or collecting, is something one likes or doesn’t. I understand the notion of collecting things that make us happy and having them around, visible, so that we can enjoy them. It feels cozy. But I keep this to a minimal, since for me, clutter in space just clutters my mind. One strategy I have found to help is to use the seasons as cues to change out my trinkets :)

      Xx.

  3. Oh my, what an absolutely incredible space. Never seen it before and now totally smitten. I think nearly everything about this is perfect. I commend that 2 designers managed to compromise so beautifully.

I love their choices of furniture, the rugs, the colours (so subtle) and yes, I was trying to look closely to see what “looks like a long row of Pez on the ledge” Now, I can see it and LOVE LOVE LOVE that. I spent half of my childhood in Italy and was the greatest fan of PEZ dispensers. Amazing how they displayed it.

Thank you for sharing, have now bookmarked and will return often for inspiration and ideas xx

omg! Tina! I finally hit the nail on the head! I guess, I found a space we could both live happily together in ;) I really love this space too.

      Xx.
